Overview
Shifts are specific time slots that volunteers can sign up for a specific activity.
How to Create Shifts
To add shifts to an activity, the activity must have shifts enabled
- View an activity with shifts enabled
- Click Add shift
- Enter the number of volunteers need or spots available
- Choose a date for the given shift
- Enter a start and end time
- If this is a recurring shift, toggle Repeats to on
- Select how often it repeats: weekly, monthly, or on a specific date
- Select the required options depending on how often it repeats
- Click Create
Either one or many shifts will be created based on your settings. Volunteers will be able to sign up for each shift created.
Publishing Shifts
Before volunteers can sign up for a shift, the shift must be published as well as the scheduled activity it belongs to and the schedule that activity belongs to.
To publish shifts:
- View an activity (or go to Hours -> Shifts)
- Select all the shifts you want to publish
- Click Bulk actions -> Publish selected
- Click Publish selected to confirm
You can see which shifts are published or not by looking at the Published column. A green checkmark means it is published.
